Need We Say More? Jonathan Adler’s Jacques Bench.

By: Elisabeth Paulson

Need we say more? Lucite, brass, and grey velvet. Jonathan Adler, you’re my hero. This makes me want to clear out the whole house and just install this bench, in front of a window, overlooking the beach. (Fine, the street will do until I finalize that beach house.)

As far as Chanukkah decorations go, there is nothing more iconic than the menorah. While the nine candles are a must, the shape and structure of the menorah can be as traditional or unusual as desired. In honor of the festival of lights beginning this week, we’ve rounded up our top five favorite non-traditional menorahs.

Beautiful, elegant, and unexpected, the Manzanita Candelabra from West Elm is a menorah that makes a statement in any setting.

Dog lovers rejoice! Jonathan Adler’s ceramic Dachshund menorah is a fun way to bring your personality into your holiday decor.

If you’re looking for a menorah that breaks from tradition, you won’t find one more modern and innovative than the Molecular Menorah. Its sculptural shape is about as far from the traditional silhouette you can get.

For kids and kids-at-heart, behold the Menorasaurus Rex! A funky and bold option for the festival of lights.

Clean, minimal lines make this eco friendly Green Ludwig menorah an instant classic.

Carrying on the traditions of Chanukkah doesn’t have to mean forgoing style and self-expression. Modern, fun, and expressive menorahs are easier to find now than ever before. Put the “festive” back into “festival of lights” with a menorah that celebrates the holiday and your personality.
