Shelby and Danielle’s Market Favorites
By: Shelby Adamson and Danielle Clockel
Going to market is always a fun way to see new trends and get inspired. Last week we visited AmericasMart downtown for their spring market and found some truly unique pieces.
As always, Palecek stunned us with their natural materials and focus on texture. Check out this table made with fossilized clamshell!
Speaking of texture, this oversized woven wall hanging at Gold Leaf Designs is as good as it gets. The crisp white color helps keep it modern, but not stark.
Surya really impressed us with their enormous rug selection, but one of the most surprising sections was their jute rugs. Look at that pattern!
Finally, we’ve seen printmaker’s cabinets before, but this jewelry storage/dresser from Regina Andrew was something special. Beautiful, and so practical. Form and function!
The biggest thing we noticed at market was a focus on materials, texture, and revisiting classic pieces in a modern yet organic way. These concepts have really inspired us, especially as we begin planning our studio’s next look. What elements from this showcase might we include in our own design? You’ll have to wait and see!
