Packing for Paris
by: Stephanie Andrews
Bonjour Mes Amies,
I hope that you have had a good week! Today, I’d like to continue to explore the intersection of design and travel with thoughts on travel wardrobes. Over the years, I have shared my desire to build my capsule wardrobe. Frankly, I do not usually take much time to pack, but I am going to France, and well, they are tres chic, so I thought that I would put in some additional effort. I know that I will still look American, but hopefully, I will be somewhat confident with my rusty French and easygoing wardrobe.

This photo was taken by Ed during our last trip to Paris in 1998! The magic was palpable and I felt like I wanted to live there!
I’m excited to share some outfit ideas I’ve put together for our upcoming trip. I’ve always been inspired by those effortlessly stylish Pinterest looks and thought I’d try to create something similar using my own wardrobe. This is a first for me, so wish me luck—I might just end up needing a shopping trip afterward!

Fleamarket Shopping in little villages.
Remember, my goal is to pack light and fit everything into my vintage duffel bag. My packing list includes: 2 dresses, 4 shirts, 3 bottoms, 1 sweater, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 set of pajamas, plus the essentials like underwear, socks, and my makeup bag. It might be a tight fit, but here we go!

Walking for Miles in Paris (including Musee D’Orsay)

Dinner with friends in the Chateau Region of Tours

Beach visit to the South of France

Loungewear and Nighttime Reading

The overall spread of clothes on the bed-will it fit?
After creating this for you (and me), I think that I could use a black cardigan and a cute foldable umbrella. Let me know if there are other items that I am missing! Did I mention that I usually forget some very important stuff? I am looking forward to sharing photos with you while I am in France. I will be there from April 9th-27th.
A la prochaine,
(until next time),
Stephanie
