4 Easy, Modern Ideas For Your Thanksgiving Table.

By: Stephanie Andrews

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and this year, after an unexpected turn of events that has my in-laws flying out to California, I find myself hosting the dinner for friends and family. This is a first. I must confess that when it comes to cooking, my husband Ed is the star of the show, which means I get to do what I do best: make things look beautiful! My main focus? The table, of course.

Just a simple draping of branches and herbs in the center of the table. Add a few votive candles and you have an effortlessly elegant arrangement.

Update that tired cornucopia with a fresh paint job and vibrant fruits and veggies. Maybe a deep grey with pomegranates and eggplants for a richer, more sophisticated look?

Let’s not forget those vintage pieces that are laying around. Fill an old dough trough, bowl, or tray with bright apples, acorn squash, pinecones, and artichokes to celebrate the bounty of fall. And don’t forget a few flowering branches! (Check out Candler Park Flowers for unique options.)

Don’t you just love the simplicity of this twine, pumpkin, and wood arrangement? The neutral palette keeps the setting fresh and uncluttered.

Keep things simple this Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season. This helps me remember the real reason for holidays: enjoy my family, appreciate their uniqueness (and try not to kill them), and count my many, many blessings.
