Design Matchmaker: Waterworks and Ken Fulk

By: Danielle Clockel

Love is in the air! We’re constantly finding designers, vendors, artists, and artisans to crush on, and sometimes a pair comes along that seems meant to be. This week we’re drooling over top notch kitchen and bath fixture supplier Waterworks and fearless interior designer Ken Fulk. Ken’s designs are fun and eclectic in the most sophisticated way, with a focus on the details. His color and material choices are unparalleled. Let us introduce you.

What do we love more: that curvy spiral staircase or the graphic black and white chevron tile floor? Together they compliment each other in a dance of natural tones and materials with dramatic contrast.

Talk about BOLD. Is a room with fierce green walls and ceiling plus metallic gold dining chairs and brass bar cart too much? In this case: nope! This room is one big, sumptuous feast for the eyes. Whew!

What a swoon-worthy mix of styles. The geometric, grid-like floor and minimalist-yet-elegant chandeliers give a modern touch to the grandeur of the two story chartreuse panels and glossy black reception enclosure.

We know, you’re totally in love, right? Who could possibly pair with such a unique and high quality combination of colors, materials, and styles? Introducing Waterworks…

Wooden handles? A subway and square tile backsplash? Together?? Where have you been all our lives?

All the contrast. All of it. White tile next to black tile. Horizontal neighboring vertical. Staggered vs straight. Bringing it all together is glamorous brass accents, including an industrial-inspired regulator knob.

This screams practical luxury. It’s just a shower, right? Oh but there’s black iron doors! And a wall of marble! We love the attention to detail and quality of materials in a space that’s meant for rejuvenating but often gets put on the back burner.

Ken Fulk, meet Waterworks. Waterworks, Ken Fulk. We think you’re a match made in design heaven, with your dedication to quality and keen eye for making even the smallest details special. If you haven’t joined forces on a project yet, we hope you do in the future!
